ABOUT ME

I am Dr. Ravikant Singh, a dedicated postdoctoral researcher at University College Dublin (UCD) with a passion for structural engineering, fire safety, and cold-formed steel research. My expertise lies in experimental and numerical analysis of structural members under extreme conditions, particularly fire exposure, and I strive to develop innovative solutions for enhancing structural resilience.

With a Ph.D. from IIT Patna, my research has explored the performance of cold-formed steel members at elevated temperatures, leading to significant contributions in fire engineering and material behavior. My work integrates finite element modeling (ABAQUS), experimental testing, and machine learning to improve safety standards in construction.

Beyond research, I am deeply committed to teaching and mentoring students. Having served as a guest lecturer at NIT Arunachal Pradesh, I have taught subjects such as Construction Planning and Management, Engineering Geology, and Fire Hazard Analysis. My goal is to inspire future engineers while advancing knowledge in sustainable and fire-resistant construction.

Currently, I am working on projects that emphasize sustainability in cold-formed steel structures, investigating fire-resistant coatings, thermal gradients, and structural responses under localized fire exposure. I am also actively seeking research collaborations to explore new frontiers in fire engineering and structural safety.

When I’m not immersed in research, I enjoy watching Netflix, exploring good food, hitting the gym, and relaxing. I also have a growing interest in drawing and creative expression.
